Iyengar Yoga Posture Clinic: Sutra II with Juno Lamb:
We are excited to introduce this great new workshop to you, and instructed by Juno Lamb. 46 of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras reads "shtira sukham asanam,"which B.K.S. Iyengar translates as, "Asana is perfect firmness of body, steadiness of intelligence and benevolence of spirit." For me this sutra is about learning how to remain soft, relaxed, comfortable without going limp or losing one's connection to the core and the self, and how to remain firm, connected, without freezing or locking the physical body or the emotions.We will play with safe alignment and possible modifications in a series of traditional, familiar yoga asanas, and practice maintaining awareness even as we move in and out of poses, in order to build a sense of what alignment creates the most ease in your body as you practice. The workshop will also include breath work and will end with restorative yoga.
